Barbara MacIntire
As a resident of Telluride since 1973, I have been an active participant in the growth and development of this exclusive ski resort. I founded and operated one of Telluride’s longest running retail stores, have operated an art gallery and a retail furniture store. The retail furniture business quickly grew into one of Telluride’s most successful interior design firms. Rather than a “one style fits all” approach, we tailor an interior to fit our client’s taste and lifestyle.

I grew up in Cincinnati and graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. I had been fascinated with the Telluride area for several years and was granted the opportunity to intern with Telluride Ski Resort during my last semester of college. After graduating with a major in Recreation Management and a minor in Ceramics, I moved to Telluride full time. For the past 3 years in Telluride, I have been working in the property management/vacation rental business. I love working with and caring for these luxurious properties and recently joined the LuxWest team to continue my passion for these properties and tap into my creative background. “Moving to Telluride has been a dream come true! The ability to incorporate my career, ceramics and all my recreation outdoor activities into one small energetic, majestic mountain town, what more could I ask for!”

I moved to Telluride, CO in 2003 after living in New York for over 25 years. Over the last year, I have worked for LuxWest Interiors as an associate designer. I bring my experience from my many years of involvement in the design business in the New York area. For the last 6 months, I have been primarily involved with the LuxWest condo project, 12 Trails Edge, located in Mountain Village. I was responsible for not only many of the drawings on the project but the entire spec book, from plumbing & light fixtures to interior elevations and furnishings. I have also been working closely with Barbara MacIntire on numerous interior projects in Mountain Village.

We have worked on a wide range of projects of every scale and size, everything from sprucing up a condo for rental use, to 14,000 square foot private residences, and 20 unit club residence properties. We have therefore experienced a wide range of lessons and opportunities for perfecting our systems and processes.
We have become experts in all realms but particularly in creating units for clubs and resorts. For example, we create suites with dual king capability that are beautifully designed and can be transformed to suit the guest’s needs. We also are experienced in providing the finest housewares and linens packages that are durable and luxurious. We’ve used furnishings that achieve a sumptuous and elegant look while maintaining comfort and durability for vacation use.
We have consistently improved our organized, efficient methods for installations, inventory tracking, budget and design proposals and client communication. We have become knowledgeable in communicating with general contractors and project managers and have an appreciation for the importance of the coordination and collaboration of all parties involved in a project’s planning process. We have also mastered a smooth installation process for individual residences or multiple units simultaneously. These established methods for install are both organizationally friendly for our company while being extremely client friendly and easy to understand and track.
Through our diverse projects we are continuously expanding our resources for products especially those with environmental and sustainable focus which we find to be an increasingly important need in design.
